Charles Hodge was a professor at Princeton Theological Seminary, 1822-1878.

Presbyterian minister and author, of Princeton, Mercer County, New Jersey; was graduated from the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University), 1815, and from Princeton Theological Seminary, 1819; served as an assistant instructor, 1819-1822, and professor, 1822-1878, at Princeton Theological Seminary; was ordained by the Presbytery of New Brunswick, 1821; studied in Europe, 1825-1828; edited the Biblical Repertory and Princeton Review (which he founded in 1825 under a different title), 1825-1868; wrote several theological books; served as a trustee of the College of New Jersey, 1850-1878.
