Biographical History

Missionary, educator, theologian; born Charles Peter Wagner, 1930; educated at Rutgers University (B.S. 1952), Fuller Theological Seminary (M. Div., 1955), Princeton Theological Seminary (Th. M., 1962), Fuller Seminary School of World Mission (M.A. 1968) and University of Southern California (Ph. D.); served as missionary in Bolivia with South America Mission and Andes Evangelical Mission, 1956-1971; Vice President, Fuller Evangelistic Association, 1971-1979; Professor of Church Growth, Fuller Theological Seminary School of World Mission, 1971- ; founded Bolivian Commission for Evangelical Social Action (COMBASE); involved in regional and international meetings including Primer Congreso Latinoamericano de Evangelizacion (CLADE, 1969) and the International Congress on World Evangelization (ICOWE, 1974); served on the Lausanne Executive Committee for World Evangelization as chairman of its Strategy Working Group, 1976-1981; authored numerous books and articles on church growth; married and had three children.
