Biographical History

Andrew Ellicott was a surveyor and mathematician; he was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 1785.

Ellicott (1754-1820) was a surveyor and matematician. He explored the Mississippi River Valley and the southern boundaries of the United States. The Clarke Historical Library has two books by Ellicott and microfilm of his papers which are housed in other institutions.
