Biographical History

Al Plastino (b. Alfred John Plastino, Dec. 15, 1921, New York-d. Nov. 25, 2013) was an American comic book artist best known as one of the most prolific Superman artists of the 1950s, along with his DC Comics colleague Wayne Boring. He also worked as a comics writer, editor, letterer and colorist. In a 1941 issue of The Arrow comic book, he signed his work as Alfredo Plastino. During World War II, he created war posters at the Pentagon.
