Biographical History

John Coney was a distinguished English draughtsman and engraver. He originally apprenticed as an architect; although he never practiced, the focus of his engravings was invariably architectural. Known for fine engravings of cathedrals and abbey churches, Coney had a continental vision, producing work of buildings in France, Holland, Germany, and Italy as well as England.

From the description of John Coney letter to Moon, Boys & Co., 1832 June 26. (Pennsylvania State University Libraries). WorldCat record id: 52734460
