Biographical History

S. Guy Endore was born in 1901; author of 15 books, including King of Paris, Casanova--his known and unknown life, Voltaire! Voltaire!, and Man from Limbo; wrote screenplays, including Captain Sinbad, Johnny Allegro, Song of Russia, He ran all the way, Werewolf of Paris, Methinks the lady, and Devil doll; his script, G.I. Joe, was nominated for an Oscar, 1945; was reputedly blacklisted by the studios for his political views, late 1940s; devoted much of his time to the Synanon Foundation; died Feb. 12, 1970.
