Writer of adventure and mystery stories, b. Singapore, Leslie Charles Bowyer Yin, d. Apr. 16, 1993. Attended Cambridge University which he left after success of his early books, changing his name to Leslie Charteris. Best known for his "Saint" detective stories, on which were based movies and popular television program of the same name.
