Conductor born in Philadelphia in 1936; nephew of contralto Marian Anderson. During his music career DePreist served as director of the Orchestre symphonique de Quebec, Oregon Symphony, Malmo symfoniorkester, and Orchestre philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, in addition to an international career as a guest conductor with many other orchestras.
