Biographical notes:

Ferraro served in the 96th through 98th Congresses, 1979-1985. She was Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale's running mate in 1984. She ran in the Democratic primaries for US Senate in 1992 and 1998 but lost the first race and dropped out of the second.
