The Bloomsbury Group was an informal group of intellectuals, artists and writers associated with the residential district of Bloomsbury in west central London, across from the British Museum. In actuality, Bloomsbury has a significance independent of its location, it represents an attitude toward life.
George Milton, retired associate professor of anthropology at Florida State University, and donor of this collection, made the gift in honor of Florida State Alumna Clifton Van Brunt Lewis because she "uses her many talents to aid and promote others in the various arts."
From the description of The Bloomsburys and supporting cast, a collection of paintings, books and papers, 1882-1979. (Florida State University). WorldCat record id: 50683177
