Composed 1944. First performance Mutual Broadcasting System, Voice of America broadcast, 9 December 1956, Oklahoma City Symphony, Guy Fraser Harrison conductor.--Cf. Fleisher Collection.

The first performance was recorded for broadcasting by station WKY (Dec. 9, 1956). The program was open to the public and was held in the Auditorium of Oklahoma City University. The tape was then sent to the Mutual Broadcasting System in N.Y. and broadcast 3 weeks later on Voice of America. It was also broadcast 4 weeks from the date it was taped, both on WKY and on WNAD the University of Oklahoma station. (Letter of Oct. 17, 1959).--Cf. Fleisher Collection.
