BIOGHIST REQUIRED Samson Raphaelson, playwright, screenwriter, and teacher, wrote scenarios for many of the films directed by Ernst Lubitsch from 1931 until 1947, Raphaelson taught screenwriting at Columbia from 1976 until 1982, and also taught at the University of Illinois in 1920/21 and in 1948.
