Biographical notes:

Jean Cras, composer and officer in the French navy, composed Âmes d'enfants for his daughters, Isaure, Colette, and Monique, while commander of the ship Commandant Bory. The work was written in three versions: for piano, six hands and four hands, and for orchestra.
