Stanley Morison served as typographic advisor to the Monotype Corporation from 1923, the Cambridge University Press from 1923 to 1959, and The Times (London) from 1929 to 1944. Through his work, Morison helped adopt traditional typefaces to machine composition. He is best known for designing the Times New Roman typeface, first used in 1932.
