American pianist.

Mr. Webster studied with Isidor Philipp, Nadia Boulanger, Robert Casadesus and Artur Schnabel and was the first American to win the Premier Prix award at the Paris Conservatory. He has associated with Maurice Ravel, and Igor Stravinsky. His concert repertory is diverse and wide-ranging, extending from Bach and Beethoven to twentieth century avant-garde. He is best known as a champion of modern American composers and for his interpretations of Debussy and Ravel. His career also included teaching. He taught at the New England Conservatory, the Juilliard School and the Aspen Music Festival and School. His students include Paul Jacobs, Michel Bloch, Hephzibah and Yaltah Menuhin, Thomas Schumacher, Thomas Mastroianni, and Raymond Jackson. Webster has also served on juries for numerous piano competitions, and has been the recipient of many awards.
