Charlton Ogburn, author, was born March 15, 1911 in Atlanta, Georgia. Ogburn held various posts in the Bureau of Far Eastern Affairs including that of political advisor to the United States Delegation to the United Nations Security Council's Committee of Good Offices in the Indonesian Dispute and Chief of the Division of Research for the Near East, South Asia, and Africa. After resigning from government work (1957), he devoted his time to writing, focusing on wildlife and on the true identity of the author of Shakespeare's work.
